Ah, but don't forget that "there was no significant difference in ratings of fullness and desire to eat between the two meal conditions although, if anything, participants reported less hunger and desire to eat after the high-fibre vegetarian meal."

This finding jibes with a randomised cross-over trial of Mediterranean vs low fat vegan diet published in 2022 (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33544066/):

"Methods: In a randomized crossover trial, 62 overweight adults were randomly assigned to a Mediterranean or vegan diet for a 16-week period. Body weight, plasma lipids, blood pressure, and body composition (dual X-ray absorptiometry) were measured. Secondary measures included insulin resistance (Homeostasis Model Assessment, HOMA-IR), oral glucose insulin sensitivity (OGIS), and predicted insulin sensitivity (PREDIM) indices. Thereafter, participants were asked to return to their baseline diets for 4 weeks, after which they began the opposite diet for 16 weeks. The same parameters were measured before and after this 2nd 16-week period.Results: Overall net weight changes were 0.0 (Mediterranean) and -6.0 kg (vegan), (treatment effect -6.0 kg [95% CI -7.5 to -4.5]; p < 0.001). HOMA-IR decreased and OGIS increased on the vegan diet with no significant change on the Mediterranean diet (treatment effect -0.7 [95% CI, -1.8 to +0.4]; p = 0.21; and +35.8 mL/min/m2 [95% CI, +13.2 to +58.3]; p = 0.003, respectively)."

That is, no weight loss on the Mediterranean diet, but 6 kg weight loss after 4 weeks on the low fat vegan diet.

a vegan diet is not healthy tho is it? I know from a vegan that they have to take certain supplements to stay healthy. A friend lost a lot of weight on a keto diet (which I heard is not considered healthy either) but gained it all back after only a few weeks back to regular eating. Seems like all diets are like that.

The only supplement that is required for everyone on a vegan diet is vitamin B12, which is made by soil bacteria. But everyone over the age of 50 is advised to take B12 supplements, because of declining absorption rates as we get older.

Personally, I dislike the term 'vegan diet' because it only describes what is EXcluded, and not what is INcluded. I know many ethical vegans who eat a terrible diet of vegan junk food. But a wholefood plant-based diet is health-promoting.

And, corporations having personhood rights. We should have seen it coming after the machinations of the British East Indies Company and the survival Darwinism of the likes of Cecil Rhodes. He was promoting our reincorporation into the Commonwealth after we had to go to war with the Empire twice. Never trust a former enemy who claims to want to be your closest friend.

They don't want everyone living till 100+ ... so they force vaccines on us...

I was in a premium food/butcher shop a few weeks ago -- every item I checked had sugar as an ingredient --- including a mix of cayenne pepper and salt .... the only product without sugar ... was salt.

I suggest everyone have a look at the label of every item that goes into your trolley - even the 'healthy' foods are stuffed with sugar...

Surely this cannot be by chance... rather again -- this ensures few live till 100.

Makes sense - the pension system then the economy would collapse if there were too many useless feeders.

Instead of complaining... there is a way out... I just revealed what that is. Too hard?

Yes, as I mentioned in the article, MSG reduces GLP-1 secretion after prolonged exposure. There are no doubt other mechanisms by which it interferes with appetite regulation.

The medical scientists get evidence of optimal diets for people. The medical doctors sometimes seem not interested or find out too late. In these challenging times it appears that the findings of the former should be disclosed to the public for their evaluation and use. After discussing new evidence with their GP, people can decide for themselves. Currently it seems only a small % of the public does its own research.

Doctors receive very little education about nutrition during their education and training, and they're also inculcated into the belief that nutrition has only a minor influence on human health. Drugs and surgical procedures are high-tech and sexy; talking about diet is something that much lower-paid professionals do.

As for the public, the schooling system is engineered to knock out of kids their natural love of learning, and to squelch their critical thinking capacity.

What you exclude is important, but what you include is also vital. There's plenty of low-quality food that's labelled 'organic'. My focus is on packing as many fruits and vegetables into my meals as is humanly possible.

I don't live in the US.... nor do I buy any food from the US.. because I trust nothing coming out of the US.

I buy certified organic... I know the growers.

Knowing the growers is hugely important. I know there have been many incidents of retailers selling produce that's labelled 'Certified Organic', and it's actually conventionally-grown produce. This is particularly the case with eggs, but it's also happened with fruit and veg.

When I mentioned "low-quality food that's labelled 'organic'", I was referring more to processed food (not necessarily ultra-processed). I know quite a few people who say that they only eat organic food, but when I observe what they eat, there's very little fresh produce on their plate.

I would say so, in the sense that the E. coli they're exposed to become incorporated into their own gut microbiota.
