The case against The Voice
Not just for my Aussie subscribers; this is a blueprint for how the land-grab/reparations game will be played, all over the world
Back in 1999, Australians were required1 to vote in a referendum (plebiscite) to amend the country’s Constitution, to change the model of government from a constitutional monarchy to a republic.
Although there was widespread electoral support for Australia becoming a republic, the proposal was comprehensively rejected, largely because the model stipulated that the President would be appointed by Parliament, not by popular vote.
Before the referendum, each household was sent a comprehensive 38-page document by the Australian Electoral Commission, which laid out the arguments both for and against the proposal. The ‘yes’ and ‘no’ cases were given equal space, to ensure that voters could make a fully-informed decision in line with their own principles and values.
In stark contrast, the Australian government is using taxpayer money to blitzkrieg the public with a relentless propaganda campaign that only presents the ‘yes’ case for the upcoming referendum on amending the Constitution “to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia through an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice enshrined in our Constitution”.
The 8-page ‘information booklet’ prepared by the government gives no details about how the proposed Voice would actually function, how much it will cost, how Members of the Voice would be appointed, how long their terms would be, or any other important details.
Instead, it presents paragraph after paragraph of identity politics buzzwords (“inclusive, respectful and culturally informed”) and bureaucratic blather (“The Voice will be accountable and transparent”).
The booklet, which features Aboriginal-style art throughout and a boilerplate ‘Welcome to Country’ on the front cover, does not even attempt to present the case for a ‘No’ vote, and in fact is written to frame the Voice as a fait accompli.
The dinosaur media, sporting codes, corporate behemoths, the Australian Olympic Committee and Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads) all speak with one voice regarding the Voice: any Australian who votes ‘no’ is a racist, white supremacist bigot.
It’s a little awkward for them that some of the loudest ‘no’ voices come from Aboriginal people themselves, including Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price and Warren Mundine… but no matter, they can just be dismissed by virtue-signalling white folk as the black face of white supremacy.
Since the Australian Government is not doing its job to ensure Australians are fully informed before casting their vote, Quadrant magazine has stepped into the breach, with a 213 page special digital edition, which features essays by historians, academics, journalists, former politicians, ministers of religion and informed members of the public, presenting the ‘no’ case.
I highly recommend reading some or all of these essays, whether you are an Australian who will be voting in the upcoming referendum or not. Many of the contributions discuss the use of identity politics, treaties and reparations to drive dramatic political and socioeconomic changes - concerns with broad relevance to all liberal western democracies.
Update
Thanks to Kerry for sharing the following video in a comment left on this post. Traditional Custodians and Aboriginal Elders from the Central Coast of New South Wales spoke against the Voice:
Voting is compulsory for all citizens over the age of 18, in all Australian elections , including referenda.
The voice will place all the indigenous people under the control of a communist style dictatorship ruled by Labor Party (unelected and fixed term) appointees who will dictated how and where indigenous people will live, and any funding will be controlled by these few board members. I might remind everyone that the Voice is a publicly listed company and like all other businesses the people will have no say in the affairs of that business, as their will be no share holdings to the common folk, major beneficeries will be major investors such as mining companies, hedge funds and construction companies who will demand a huge growth on their investment and all profits will be exparitated to foriegn countries. As a private company and can be bought out by other corporations or foriegn governments if they fall in debt to those organisations. The majority of the Indigenous people have not been given the truth of the Voice and the general Australian community will be led to believe that the indigenous community are dictating the treaty, truth, and any reparations, (leading to hatred of the Indigineous people) but that will not be the case as only the board of the Voice company will have the mandate to fleece the Australian public of money, political power and freedom of movement around the nation. All existing financial arrangements will be usurped by this unelected body and we will see massive laundering towards projects of a very small and elite group of Indigenous puppets. Any treaties will have a heavy bias towards an aparthied nation of which the indigenous people want no part of. For more than two hundred years the majority of Indigenous people have evolved into a more modern society and are reaping the benefits of that cultural engagement, our young are learning trades, attending schools, enjoying longer lives and are excelling in sports. The Voice will enslave them to an elite masterclass who will dish out welfare to keep the indigenous people in their (primitative) place and subsequently preventing them from advancing into a global society as equals.
Have you seen this gathering of Traditional Custodians and Aboriginal Elders? Invited by Community Voice Australia who appear to be doing some wonderful work out in the community.
