It's not outside the realms of possibility, but I suspect it will turn out much like any other stimulant - tolerance is rapidly acquired. There may be beneficial effects of cocoa polyphenols on gut microbiota which have knock-on effects of mood however.

Research sounds promising though. Maybe they just need to do longer studies with more people. Plus look into cacao powder not just dark chocolate.
