In 1998 my 4 year old boy was driving us up the wall he wouldn’t sit still kept throwing tantrums even to the point of violent rages and wouldn’t follow instructions even the simplest ones we took him to the doctor who referred us to a specialist who diagnosed him with adhd . He prescribed a medication which I’m sure was ritlin anyhow the next day we gave him the first dose and the change was to us horrifying he just sat there hardly moved and never made a noise we were so shocked we never administered the drug again and decided to endure the problem because we were moving to Queensland and would seek a second opinion. We took him to a specialist who diagnosed him with an inner ear infection the specialist said his ears were so blocked it would have been driving him crazy our son went into surgery had the problem attended to and grommets fitted and that was the end of our problems.

John Nelson/Queensland.

All I can say is, your son is so lucky to have you as parents. I have known parents who see their children turning into zombies on these drugs, and keep administering them, because "at least little Johnny isn't getting into trouble at school anymore!"

Your example is such a fine illustration of how troubling behaviour needs to be addressed holistically. (Mind you, I would have been even happier if the specialist had talked about dietary factors that cause recurrent otitis media!)

If so I suggest you give at least 46 minutes to Dr James Davies in this video presuming this works. If you think Psychiatry has a problem here might be the best evidence you will ever need. The rest is buried in the horrific history of Use, Misuse and Abuse inflicted on people over decades in most of the world in the name of Psychiatry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Nd40Uy6tbQ

I read Davies' book 'Cracked' a few years ago, and it was a damn good read. Thanks for sharing this video. It's so good, I'm going to add a link to it, in the post.
