Intrepid independent journalist Rebekah Barnett joins Mitch and I to discuss the South Australian Employment Tribunal decision to award workers' compensation to a man injured by a COVID injection.
Fantastic, albeit rather depressing conversation. I must admit, while I also wholeheartedly support compensation for those harmed, I had not fully considered just how severe the impact of this approach will be. It has been evident for some time that governments and government departments do not cared at all about how much taxpayer money they spend on any number of things (but in this context on areas related to fighting against those declining COVID vaccines and/or those injured by them), and I have previously thought about the fact that the burden of any compensation paid will be borne by the people. However, it is only after listening to you speak that I have really considered the economic implications of a scenario where every person (or even most people) harmed is/are compensated.
The number of people harmed by these products is mind-boggling, and the economic impacts both of their reduced participation in the workforce, and compensation for their injuries, are almost unfathomable.

So the manufacturer gets off Scott free ? Nice business.
Yep, and the taxpayer foots the bill.
