Thanks. After your mention, I checked and was quite (pleasantly) surprised that Cairns doesn't do it. Alas, I've had to return south for the forseeable future. I ended up getting a gravity filter, no way I can justify a whole house filter. And this possibly explains why after it rains, my vegies noticeably thrive, whereas using the hose isn't as noticeable - maybe the fluoride is upsetting the plants. Lucky I don't nurse my coffee :) and some great tips.
