All killings are equal, but some killings are more equal than others.

.

I agree, this is an attempt to normalise extreme violence against "environmental vandals".

Almost like a Asch Conformity test.

Oh yes, that's a very apt comparison.

Not surprised to see this sort of stuff in The Conversation (with Billy G, the philanthropath behind it financially).

I'll stick to the old "linear" films, thank you, keeping me and my emotions to myself. It all started with 'Lassie Come Home' which teared me up no end when I was a nipper. The opening five minutes of the Anne Frank film (with Ben Kingsley as Otto Frank) also did the trick, as did 'Gorillas in the Mist', whilst the German (anti-Nazi, anti-war) film, 'Stalingrad', made me melancohly for days afterwards. On the other hand, Laurel and Hardy still double me up with laughter.

Oh gee, don't bring up those old Lassie movies or I'll be a sobbing puddle within minutes!

I (he, him, captain terrific) notice that Orwell keeps getting more and more non-fiction. As a fan of choose your own adventure, and Black Mirror's 'bandersnatch', i will be attending the premier, and using 'human I' to recruit for the resistance by sitting at the front and simply facing the other way.

Sadly, I suspect you're right.

That would be a hard pass from me.

I’m already attempting to pack shopping at Woollies these days in the self checkout with one hand. The other is over the spy camera on the top of the check out screen.

Next step, facial recognition cameras: https://www.afr.com/companies/retail/retailers-blind-spot-over-facial-recognition-technology-20220927-p5blc8.

I refuse to use those self checkouts. I'd rather queue up to be served by an actual human.

Very understandable, the human interaction is so vital. I have a problem with injected folk shedding and so keep a bit more distance.

I have several clients who are super-sensitive to the shedding. It's a massive problem.

It's always worth checking whether Billy Boy's dirty little fingers have touched any media outlet that consistently purveys the establishment narrative.

You'd be amazed how little you have to pay to buy journalists, scientists and academics. Most of Gates' media grants are quite small but analysis of articles published after he made them show a clear impact.
