The only saving grace (for the general population) that I can see for people being prescribed molnupiravir is that almost all of them are PAST breeding age, and so whatever genetic mutations they may end up with will not be passed on to the next generation!!! :-(

Australia has very much been a 'testing' ground during covid: lockdowns, 'vaccine' mandates, hospital procedures, blocking certain drugs, recommending certain drugs etc. It's disgusting what's been done to people. Just appalling.

When I speak to people from other countries, it seems to be common knowledge that this country is a testing ground for all manner of population control schemes, in both senses of that phrase.

And why not? Many of our people came across the seas in chains. Others came of their own free will - to make a new life and a buck or two. The local Aboriginals were and often still are held in contempt - and are basically being poisoned and bred out.

It's not like anyone really cares about the people living in Australia.

Look at our politicians? Scumbags - pretty well the lot of them.

And with Donald Horne's "The Lucky Country" from 1964, he was basically wondering how we've not already shot ourselves in the foot!!! Luck had a lot to play, evidently!

But it would seem our luck has finally run out, 50 odd years later.

It's amazing how few people understood what Donald Horne meant by that title. Through the sheer dumb luck of living in a resource-rich country with a low population, we managed to get rich enough to enjoy a high standard of living, despite our piss-poor government and generally lazy-ass attitudes.

Ha ha, I know.

I think he wrote it too nicely (I have his book in front of me right now!) and didn't spell it out obviously enough. It comes across more as a philosophical book rather than a scathing attack on Australian society - and is therefore quite easy to dismiss, especially considering the tone of the book, which is rather balanced and calm. Perhaps that has thrown lots of people off the more sinister meaning in his book.

Probably more to the point, people just read the cover and thought, "Oh yeah, we are lucky!" and that was the end of their thought processing! :-D

Our Aussie Gov is so completely corrupted that even if someone does unequively prove Molnupiravir is dangerous, the TGA will completely and utterly disagree.

Expand full comment

And they will do so in a fashion that is transparently moronic, but they'll get away with it anyway because so few of our elected representatives will stand up for us and demand accountability.

Well on the good side, that bastard Skerritt is leaving the TGA on the 18th April. It can't come soon enough! He's caused so much damage over that decade plus he's been in that role - and that's with NO background in 'pharmacy', only agriculture.

The down side is that some other evil person will replace him...

Expand full comment

That's the scary part - who are they going to replace him with?

Oh, someone kind and caring who believes in transparency and answering all the Senate Estimate questions, probably...

NOT!

Anyway, it might not matter who the new person is because they're inheriting a poisoned chalice and could be likely to, in time, be duly guillotined. A scapegoat if you will. Australian politics seems to favour that scenario in recent years...

I suppose the worst option is a person equal to or even more criminal than Skerritt.

And then we have the NSW State election coming up in late March as well. So much potential......for the same old shite. All we get are new figureheads.

And the disastrous merry-go-round continues...

I truly believe, after watching the clownshow of the last 3 years, that anarchy (in the political sense, as in 'no rulers') is the only viable option for organisation of intelligent and self-responsible humans. All institutions inevitably become corrupted.

I think it's called self-responsibility, yes?! :-D

Great job explaining the molnupiravir scam. Of course, it's par for the course. Every meaningful decision the public health criminals have made has been harmful. Nobody is that stupid. The only rational conclusion is they are purposely causing harm. They know full well they are injuring and killing people and they are doing it in lockstep around the world.

There's no way this can be attributed to incompetence. It's malice.

So in this webinar that screened Dec 15 (https://publish.viostream.com/app/s-dznqq6e) the Commonwealth Health Dept was still aggressively pushing doctors to prescribe molnupiravir (go to around 3'30" AGAINST NCET guidelines. That's really disturbing.

Re Molnupiravir. The Australian Taskforce appears to have followed the UK. In Dec 2022 the recommendation changed to 'Do not routinely use molnupiravir for the treatment of COVID-19. '

How many doses are currently held at around $1000ea. May be some will go cheap at auction

Could you send me a link to this recommendation? When I searched for their current guidance, I found only pages recommending its use in all adults "at increased risk for hospitalisation or death" - see https://www.tga.gov.au/tga-provisionally-approves-merck-sharp-dohme-australia-pty-ltds-oral-covid-19-treatment-lagevrio-molnupiravir. The latest PBS prescribing update was in Sept 2022, recommending its use "for patients with mild-moderate COVID 19 who have a high risk for developing severe disease" - see https://www.pbs.gov.au/info/news/2022/03/lagevrio-molnupiravir-pbs-listing. Mark Butler approved extending PBS coverage to indigenous people over age 30 in October 2022 - see https://www.health.gov.au/ministers/the-hon-mark-butler-mp/media/affordable-medicines-to-treat-skin-cancer-lung-cancer-and-alh.
