Appreciated the discussion on the Voice. It isn't going to change anything for the First Nations People in terms of resources getting to where they are needed, of that I am sure. I keep thinking about a heart breaking video I watched about the increased numbers of deaths amongst tribal elders due to the shots. There are few enough left who have the connection to the land and the stories. We should be drawing on their knowledge in creating a new way of managing our environment. They know a lot more than most of us about how to work with Nature as opposed to being dominant over the natural world. We could use some of that understanding right now.

When I hear the Prime Minister talk about misinformation where people are simply having a different opinion then I know that this is not the Australia that I thought it was. Any one of us of any race, colour or creed may become the public enemy tomorrow and no evidence is required. Just a lot of words and hand waving and media moments.

I hope we manage to avoid everyone losing all of their rights in a totalitarian takeover. Unless we want to repeat the past we need to do this through becoming more connected as humans just as you say. It has become a radical act to express our authentic humanity so that is what we need to do. I and my husband are good at being hermits but we have been getting out a bit lately. We all need a community around us and that has to be built and maintained in some fashion. (-:
