I'd go one further and either abolish the RBA or let the market decide the rate of interest. Just like we have a floating $A, why not the rate of interest ?

I suspect immigration is so high so as to prop up the house of cards that is the the housing market. But in doing do, resentment is rising.

Indeed, why do we need the RBA, or any central bank at all? The Austrian economists claim that it's the interference of central banks in setting interest rates that drives the business cycle.
