It only took 40 days, but I got a response from the QLD Premier's office
It was worth the wait *sarcasm*
Back in December, I sent an open letter to politicians, on the mandating of COVID-19 injections for all people who work in healthcare, in any capacity:
It only took 40 days, but I finally got a response from the Premier’s office - not the Premier herself, as Ms Palaszcuk is far too busy posing for photos like this one (which I’m sure will be very helpful to those of you who aren’t entirely sure where the injection is supposed to go):
I bet you can’t wait to read the response, so I won’t keep you in suspense:
Dear Ms Chuter
Thank you for your email of 10 December 2021 regarding COVID-19 vaccines. I have been requested to reply to you on behalf of the Premier and Minister for the Olympics.
As the issue you have raised falls within the responsibility of the Honourable Yvette D’Ath MP, Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, your email has been forwarded to her office for consideration and direct response to you on behalf of the Palaszczuk Government.
Again, thank you for taking the time to write to the Premier.
Yours sincerely
Office of the Premier
You’ll be amazed to learn that Ms D’Ath was sent the open letter at the same time, but has not yet responded.
If you think this bureaucratic can-kicking is as lazy, dishonest and gutless as I do, feel free to drop the Premier's office a line at Inala@parliament.qld.gov.au.
And if you’re a Queenslander, do let them know that you vote, and you have a long memory.
Ah, yes - the old can-kick, the venerable buck-pass, the good ol' 'how can we make this go away' play by the bureaucracy. But at least you know that you must be on target because they are trying to dodge it.
Still, at least a few public servants would have had to read your communication to be able to process it according to the bureaucracy's protocols, so something may have stuck in someone's head. We can only hope.
I'd say I'm surprised, but that would only be because you actually got a response. Similar messages sent to NSW parliamentarians are forwarded on to the Health Hazzard, if they get a response at all
